Laraneta Wines Win 3 Awards at the 33rd Annual Orange County Fair Commercial Wine Competition
July 1, 2009:
Laraneta Winery's first entry in the competition brings home a Gold Medal for their 05 Sa Va, and Bronze Medals for their 05 Cabernet Sauvignon and 05 Sangiovese. This is the first commercial wine produced by the small family owned and operated winery. "We are ecstatic with these results!" commented owner Joe Laraneta. "We bottled our first vintage in November of 2008, and started pouring for the public in March 2009. We sent 4 wines to the competition and received award medals for 3."The Laraneta's grow their grapes at their vineyards located in Templeton, a small town in the Paso Robles wine region of Calirornia's Central Coast. They also operate Honey Oak House B & B at Laraneta Vineyards and Laraneta Olive Oil which produces Extra Virgin oil from Tuscan olives.
